I have had heart arrhythmias for a year or two but yesterdsy was pretty scary. My heart started racing. I grabbed my BP monitor. BP was normal but with 140 bpm I felt like I was going to faint. I rushed to the doctor. ECG didn't show anything to worry about but doc has put me on beta blockers (bisoprolol).

Regular tachycardia, I wouldn't worry too much now that your on a BB. Maybe you had a panic attack? Did he prescribe you metoprolol? Pretty common for faster than normal heart rate. Honesty I wouldn't worry too much unless you had chest pain or pressure or an irregular heart rhythm other than tachycardia.

If there is little improvement or it gets worse, may want to consult a cardiologist about a stress test with an echocardiogram.

I see a cardiologist on Monday because he wants me to wear a Holter for 24 hours. I saw him last year already when he put me on 2.5 mg bisoprolol. He had asked me to wear a Holter back then (stress test and ECG were normal) but I forgot about it.
