my wife is a RN... and said she would do it... any of you guys do blood letting at home... since i can't donate but every 8 weeks. i would like to do it every 4 weeks when blasting. to keep my blood numbers in line.

maybe only take half a pint at home... and see how my blood numbers look?

Krustus, what compounds are you running and when was your last blood donation date along with the hemoglobin level?

npp 300 a week... mast e 600 a week .. test 300 a week.

my last bloods were off blast but some of the levels were borderline high... just trying to be proactive and not let them get out of range

I never believed in this.Ive heard of guys over the yrs thinking this is a good practice.Never even thought of trying it.What are you actually trying to get in line? You say your numbers were off and thats why you are considering blood letting??Also, you really think you need to give blood more than every 8 wks??

There are many factors that affect this brother, cycling is only one of them.Ive run some pretty crazy high mg's and stacks and have never needed to draw my blood, especially more often than every 8 wks.If you're giving blood and still see a need to draw it more often,IMHO,you have a lot more factors to get in line with your body.Ones diet and even through natural supplementation can GREATLY affect this.

you may be right Fist... i would just like to keep numbers good and every 8 weeks has done me good ... but when i blast for 8-12 weeks i feel like i might need a little extra to keep in the best range

I understand why you think you need it but am just wondering exactly what numbers you are looking to keep in check? Is it only your RBC? This will give me a little better idea on how you can do this through diet, supp's and training.

Krustus, the compounds your taking you really don't need to do extra blood withdrawal. Just staying hydrated and taking a baby aspirin and 3000-4000mg of fish oil a day is fine. You can lower the fish oil if your eating fish.

But if you feel the need to self withdrawal do could do one pint every 6 weeks while blasting.

But again it's really not needed unless your levels are in the high 19s or above currently.

ok... you guys... i'll wait til my next bloods and see... i will hold off on the self blood letting. thanks for your thoughtful input... i love this place

I need to start myself as I can't give blood

I am a fan of getting blood drawn only when needed. Having a bit of an elevated RBC count promotes vascularoty and it makes a huge difference with endurance. Of course I am speaking of high normal range, not out of range.

When your numbers are out of range, and hemo is high then donating is good practice. Many times you will feel more energetic directly after a draw. Also for myself, i tend to have high iron. That can be bad for your cardiovascular system, and donating is the only way to reduce those numbers.

Another thing to keep in mind is RBC's live less than three months. So eventually with the cessation of the compounds that raised your levels, things will normalize and reach homeostasis on their own.
