The bodybuilding world is in mourning after the tragic death of talented bodybuilder Justin Vicky, 33. The fitness community in Bali is in shock after learning of the fatal accident at Paradise Gym.

Justyn Vicky: Causes of the accident​

The accident occurred during an intense training session last Saturday. Justyn Vicky, an admired and respected athlete, was working with an impressive barbell weighing over 200 kilograms. Next to him was a colleague trying to avoid any kind of accident.








Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned. As he struggled to hold the bar to begin his routine, Justyn Vicky could not hold the weight and his legs gave way, initiating a fatal fall.






The immense weight fell onto his shoulders and continued on to the athlete's neck and head, causing major injuries.

Medical reports and the bad news​

Reports from Bali Discovery indicate that the barbell struck Justyn Vicky's head so violently that the force tipped him forward, resulting in a neck fracture that compromised vital nerves linked to his heart and respiratory system.

Rushed to hospital, doctors did everything they could to save his life, but unfortunately, his injuries were so severe that he perished from them.

After the tragedy, Justyn Vicky's close friend Kang Gede shared his sadness in an emotional statement to Bali Express:

"Vicky was a formidable, respectful and sociable person [...] He shared what he knew about bodybuilding and gave advice to his friends, as well as asking them to take care of themselves without trying to exceed their limits. Only you know your own capabilities, he said. I hope Vicky rests in peace, close to God, and finds a well-deserved place there."
 
Wow damn...RIP to this guy. If going to be moving any really heavy weight there ought to be spotters or multiple spotters preferably and ready to catch the weight should the lifter run into trouble.

Should.have at least done it on a rack with spotter arms/safty bars, so it would only go down to a safe level not all the way to the ground.. it would have just been another regular fail vid and he wouldnt have lost his life over it

Yeah true that. Any smart lifter would use safety bars/spotter arms when squatting but also judge how much weight he can actually safely lift. Spotters are still useful if testing maxes too. Ego lifting is bound to end in tears (and serious injury/death) thus why ego lifting should be strongly discouraged.

Last.time i ego lifted was in my early 20s lol if i cant do at least 4 reps of something i wont typically do it and if i try to do heavier for less to work on brute strenght i use machines.. i dont squat tho .. my lower back, knees and bum ankle wont let.me lol
 
i work out alone so i won't do anything heavy and if i do i'll use the hack squat or leg press. i'm too old to be trying to prove something at the squat rack.
