Im new to this page so it may have been asked befor. being a college student and being on a tight budget is all I've known for the past 4 years so new diet options have seemed to become pretty limited as to what to eat. I've seen all of the "big on a budget" videos which seem to be the only decent ones out there considering all the other shmoes try to post stuff yet still weigh a buck 50. so my question is, what are some of yalls "cheap" yet beneficial diets that will help me stay on track? any comments/suggestions welcomed!

eggs and milk are always cheap....I shop the discounted meat section every time I go to the store, which is sometimes twice a day. I also stock up and fish and wild game every year, which damn near cost me nothing.

eggs/eggs whites, rice, oatmeal, bananas, cheap cuts of meats cooked over night in a cockpot.

thanks for the info fellas. sityslicker1, you got any good crock pot recipes?

I've got a whole cookbook on crockpot recipes, I'm on my way to work, but I'll post some up when I get home

I love a good crockpot meal too. Not often but they always come out good.

rice and beans is another good cheap option!

Hey man,ive got a ton of great recipes posted for you to try out. Most are multiple servings which works out great for the budget conscious.Preparing your own meals is a hell of a lot cheaper and healthier than buying out.Plus,as ive stated, when you making several meals at once time, you'll not only save money, but save tons of time.Just throw them in some tupperware containers and then in the fridge or freezer for quick meals later that week.

You'll find several crock pot recipes in there as well.

Also, heres a great article for you to read that directly answers your question of this thread.....

Aldis is awesome! Quality food and you spend half that you would at a shoprite or something else along those lines.
