Cutting

So if you've read my other posts you'd know I'm new to this board and others for that matter. Running my first cycle w/ dyel gear: 500 test c and anavar 50 per day. My goal is to cut on my first cycle. Stupid, maybe, but I'm on TRT anyway and ate like a pig for the last 3 months to bulk so that's where I'm at. So what do you guys do when cutting?

According to many online calorie calcs I should take eat about 2000 calories a day (I'm 6 ft, 223, and lift 5 days a week and just adding in cardio 3-4 days a week). I have a food scale I'll use but I travel every week for work (so I guess I'll eat salads w/ extra protein).

Any tips on making a successful cut? Do you count macro's or is that BS? Any advice on what to eat, how to train, or what to do to stay healthy I'm all ears. I felt tired as shit today b/c I prolly ate roughly 75 g carbs.

Thanks,

-bombs

more fiber, way way less carbs, good amounts of protein, LOTS of veggies, good fats are key also. cardio every day medium tempo. food is key when cutting. count macros always otherwise you dont know what is what. calories are important but more important is WHAT you eat. 500cals of pure sugar is far from same as 500 cals of fiber or omega 3 fats.

drak

when you say way more fiber, how are you incorporating this into you diet. are you talking about taking in fiber drinks or low carb tortillas, oatmeal, sweet potatoes etc.. These are all carbs but how do you take in fiber and be low carb without supplementing with oat bran, or metamucil?

veggies. only way and best way. most peole cant process carbs well so lowering or excluding carbs is a good way to lose fat. keep protein always there as its needed for repair, good fats for well being of the mind and body. its all in the details ofcourse but very few will tell you to eat more carbs when cutting

Most veggies are carbs... but I think he's referring refined or processed carbs.

What do you estimate your BF at? Are you a lean 223lbs?

Is the cardio you added fasted in the am or post workout? Timing of your carbs is very helpful in fat loss, 75 gms seems very low especially if your spreading them out.

Different opinions here...Nothing gets my metabolism going like lots of carbs. Low carbs I have poor workouts and feel like shit. If you have problem processing carbs, there's something wrong. Why are you Cutting unless your competing? Just a little calorie deficit is all you need to lose bf

agree carbs are not as evil as made out ... excess calories are what makes you fat.. if we are talking about a healthy fasted blood sugar level... too many carbs can be bad.
i can cut on 200-300g of carbs.. not stage ripped but beach body ripped...
i count macros and cals closely...
i don't do any added cardio til i'm well into my cut... i start with a slight deficit.. when fatloss stales after a bit.. i decide on the addition of cardio or drop cals again. then when fatloss stales again i'm deciding if i'm adding T3 or something else.. don't play all your cards right up front... hold some for when you stall out.
those cals sound pretty low for a guy that size.. thats less than 10x your body weight... unless you are very fat.. and sedentary life style..

No clue on the bf. 19% is a guess. Attached is me in Sept where I was prolly 14? I ate kind of shitty over the holidays to try and get bigger regardless of fat. If I'm 14 in the pic from Sept I'd guess I'm 4-5 above that now making me 19%; ut that's a guess from me, someone who is new to all this. Heads up on the pic, I'm in the shower without a shirt; fair warning (no dick of course; thought this was a bodybuilding forum anyway but maybe offended someone on a previous post).
This pick I was eating 50 carbs a day roughly because I have a terrible time losing body fat. I used to party and basically not eat (once I didn't eat for 10 days; only drank fluids). I swear those days messed up my metabolism. Weightlifting has changed my life and I don't party anymore and barely even drink. Mid feb will be a two year anniversary so to peak of my new lifestyle. So I've only been lifting for two years but I'm way better off.
What would you suggest for carb intake? Closer to 200?
I will start to do fasted cardio because this week it was not. I have a terrible time shedding body fat on the lower abs and love handles.

Thanks for the advice.

Cut calories, not carbs. Carbs do not cause weight or fat gain, too many calories do. You related to tunaman in anyway? Lol

TOTALLY AGREE!!!.. maybe if you are trying to control blood sugar for some health reason.. but from a body composition point of view carbs are not evil...

in fact carbs and especially protein take a few processes in the body to be stored as fat.. protein is a complex thing in the body to convert to fat.. only in special circumstances would you body even try it. carbs are easier but still is a process... fat since it's already fat can be stored immediately.

so find a balance of all three.. you do need fats for hormones etc...

Thanks, I'll track calories. Not related to tunaman. Is he the dude that posted n00des? I admit my pics were sent to a lil Russian ex in hopes of me banging her again when I travel to her area for work; didn't happen. To ease your pain here she is...no n00des.
Prolly not the best to post my pics here but if I'm going to estimate bf kinda helps to see skin.
