Federal Govt Admits Marijuana Kills Brain Tumors, But You Still Can’t Have It

Safer than big pharma drugs.

The federal government admits in newly funded research that compounds found in marijuana have an unprecedented ability to go in and kill brain tumors without any negative side effects. But you’re still going to jail if you try and use it as a medication.

And let’s be clear here: we’re not talking about prosecution for those who just ‘want to get high.’ In fact, as I’ve explained before, the true health effects of marijuana really don’t have to come with its infamous psychoactive effect Instead, we look to the non-THC (which is what gets you high) compounds within marijuana that are specifically known for their anti-cancer and antioxidant effects.http://naturalsociety.com/why-is-marijuana-illegal-examining-the-health-aspects-of-cannabis/

The worst part is that even marijuana without THC is still illegal, despite having zero ‘high’ effects. But then again, this new study on anti-tumor activity even focuses on extracts of marijuana that often do not cause any high either. As reported by Raw Story on the latest study:http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/04/feds-admit-medical-pot-works-on-brain-tumors-but-theyre-going-after-users-anyway/

“In a report issued by a U.S. government-funded research group tasked with studying drug abuse and addiction, researchers are admitting that marijuana is useful in killing off specific types of brain tumors. The report — coming from a government-backed group with annual budget of over $1 billion — arrives at an awkward time for the administration following an announcement by the Department of Justice this week that it will continue to prosecute medical marijuana cases against individuals in defiance of Congress.”

A quick search within the PubMed National Library of Medicine database (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=marijuana) for ‘marijuana’ turns up a host of studies, highlighting every aspect imaginable regarding the plant in its many forms. Some advocacy websites (http://medicalmarijuana.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000884) have even compiled a list of studies in an easy-to-read format surrounding marijuana, which has led numerous journalists (http://www.hightimes.com/read/cannabis-has-been-studied-more-many-fda-approved-pharmaceuticals) to ask the obvious question: “why are we spending so much time researching an illegal drug for its numerous benefits while stamping side-effect-riddled drugs with the FDA stamp of approval with far less research?”

The truth? Marijuana is backed by more clinical research (http://naturalsociety.com/marijuana-backed-studies-fda-approved-pharma-drugs/) than most pharmaceutical drugs.

When considering that the average drug label contains 70 side effects, and have not been thoroughly studied for long-term effects in many cases, it’s easy to see the scientific oddity that exists around the use of non-THC containing hemp (at the very least). Many popular pharmaceuticals have even been found to contain 100 to 125 side effects. Some pharma drugs come with over 525 negative reactions.

As the realization within the United States comes into focus surrounding the practical and health-related uses of marijuana, especially in its ‘no high’ non-THC form that only serves to enhance one’s health and state, it’s becoming more clear than ever that a serious role exists for hemp within the US and beyond.

Damn good read

Marijuana has gotten demonized so much and it's ridiculous. Look how all the shit alcohol causes. Don't get me wrong I drink from time to time.

But rolling up a big fatty compared to drinking a 12 pack is a no-brainer man. Give me the fatty

Haven't smoked in a very long time but have seen documentaries about the good marijuana does for people with certain illnesses

It's a shame the power this government has especially these days.

Yep...politics get in the way! It will have to be done at the state level. Next election.I would bet 3 or 4 more states will legalize it. The tide is changing!

Agree 100% brother. How many people die from drunk drivers each year? How many die from cigarettes each year?? Even worse, how many die each year from prescriptions meds?? More than all drugs combines actually. But they keep pot illegal because its bad for us?? Its all bullshit guys and girls. All about the money.

More and more states are legalizing it and the gov't still goes after people in those states saying they are breaking FEDERAL laws!! Im all for STATEHOOD.Each state should absolutely have the power to make their own laws. You can't say the laws should be the same for say LA or NY as they are in Wisconsin or Vermont! Totally different people with totally different things/crimes to worry about.

Legal rec states are Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and WASHINGTON DC! Right outside the White House!
