The bodybuilding and Fitness industry is currently being taken over by the social media interwebs.
You can pretty much create a version of yourself that is anything but accurate, realistic, honest, respectable, reputable, and any other term to describe amazing character traits.
If you have the balls, audacity, and brave personality to dive face first into a “career” or side job, that you most likely have zero business being involved in, yet want to pull the wool over naive , easily construed , gullible novices ,and in some occasions clueless veterans eyes …. Then begin making up your own hype and adopt what I call the “cut-throat mentality.”
How Do You Climb The Ladder in Expedited Fashion?
Well, you can start by reading as much as you can from various reputable sources (keyword:reputable), or in the current day and age, non-reputable sources (which is very reckless--think ‘YouTube Celebrities’).
If you’re too lazy or uninterested to do some initial leg work on your own, you can hire a Coach with a bigger name and solid reputation, or even a locally known Coach too.
Have this person get you in shape in multiple phases, off-season, dieting to get lean, contest prep ,maintenance etc… Extract as many plans and protocols as possible, be tenacious in your question asking and keep record.
Then on to the next Coach -- rinse and repeat.
If you do this routine enough times and drop some money INITIALLY to get “the vacuum effect” going -- by sucking out as much information as possible, you’re going to inevitably have some great starting tools to front with.
Most of these people will be tactical and publicly lay low for perhaps 6-12 months while they keep collecting information and sponging up data. They can recycle and re-word some legit people’s posts to then post on their own status to build up “likes” and “Amen Brother’s” and get some head nods from friends and followers.
They will drop progress pictures of their personal results from the people’s protocols they hired. They MIGHT (maybe) shout out the hired Coach that is assisting them at the time, but oftentimes keep that behind the scenes to display that they are handling their own transformation to look more credible to the followers.
Like I mentioned , these people might wait 6-12 months before truly going public as a Coach themselves (and that is still very premature IMO), or the ballsy S.O.B will start transferring their coaches information straight out the gates concurrently while they’re getting dialed in themselves. Basically shifting over information directly to people without much (or any) unique modifications or altering.
I’d say 80% of the time, when people simply follow instructions to the T, they will yield results. Now add in higher levels of hormone cycles, thermogenic aids, and other performance enhancing agents, and you surely will hit some “hole-in-ones” by the drugs masking cookie-cutter diets that aren’t uniquely tailored.
The “Band-Aid Effect”
Since I brought up performance enhancing agents (steroids, growth hormones, insulin, thermogenics, etc…) we may as well dissect how CRUCIAL this component is for “Insta-Coaches” to prevail and oftentimes EXPLODE onto the internet scene.
Simply put - drugs can mask, band-aid, cover up, and override bullshit nutrition plans, cardio regimens, training styles, and mediocre genetics.
This unfortunately even falls back on the initial sought after, reputable coaches the Insta-Coach hired. As some of these bigger name coaches push the envelope on the chemical aspect as well, but when you are (for example), an active IFBB Pro, or past IFBB Pro that looked remarkable and have been around for 20+years you are essentially “locked in” no matter how asinine your methods are.
So the Insta-Coach has a plethora of chemical protocols, has 4-5 different contest prep nutrition plans, some offseason insulin programming, and now might even have solid chemical sources to unleash to the clientele.
At this point you can start turning out newbie after newbie with stellar results. Pictures are infiltrating the internet, your regurgitated posts are becoming more frequent, maybe you’re adding some of your own input here and there and the resume is building.
The Deal Clincher
So you’ve been turning out people left and right with your basic fish, rice, and asparagus diets , a weekly “refeed” or cheat meal and of course T3, Clenbuterol, GH,and Tren to name a few helpers.
Now you start getting very friendly and cordial with upcoming or even established people that have outstanding potential. Friendly direct messages, chumming it up, offering some tips, trying to build a rapport with them before you insist on FREE HELP. Yes, you must lend your “expertise” to this genetic stand out that perhaps has been misguided or on their own. You must “woo them” into your guidance and give them unsurpassed attention (even though they are freebies.)
If this amazing specimen hasn’t touched higher doses of anabolics, has never touched legitimate growth hormone, and is a broke ass, the Insta-Coach will capitalize on this opportunity. Usually supplying this person with legit products at low cost or even free.
You are now using all the gems you collected from others and are morphing this genetic anomaly into a potential star. Pictures are being posted, then shared, then tons of comments are being built up. Perhaps you even ask the athlete to kick you a bone and always hashtag your “team”name or logo to their own posts to reveal to the masses who supplied them, I mean who made them into their current physique.
Now you can keep building undercover relationships with genetic prospects and repeating the free assistance programming process, until you now can get linked into already established names - i.e., young, newer IFBB Pro’s etc... Now you are appearing extremely legit in the public eye from conversing with bigger names, plus turning out freaky athletes.
Now you have starved and hungry low-end of the totem pole athletes emailing and messaging you non-stop willing to pay big bucks for your services. Of course the shittier people pay full suggested retail pricing, because you need to make some money since you’re giving away money to the people you actually invest the most time into -- the genetic talent you romanced. (your true marketing tools).
Most of the legit, solid Coaches will observe and watch these Insta-Coaches come up, swindle people , then explode on the scene. Most legit Coaches will still be publicly cordial and respectful to them because now they have their own little army, and who has time to delve into internet drama if they called them out. But be assured, the people that have been in the game for 10 years or much longer truly know the deal, and just know it’s a new-age phenomenon that is inevitable.
My Take On It
My personal issue with this expedited Insta-Coach process is; These people have not truly mastered their own body with NO drugs, or minimal chemical assistance ,and really become a student of nutrition, training and being consistent with the basics.
Frankly, how could these Insta Coaches develop true understanding of strategic nutrition and training when they are in their early 20’s, hired several people, and their first hormone cycle was more than a gram of combined hormones. Not to mention, fat burners, peptides, etc...
This fast-track approach will potentially hurt the people they help. When you throw the kitchen sink of chemicals at everyone to ENSURE you get the crazy end result -- since you might not know how to read people’s body and troubleshoot. The Insta-Coach would be strongly handicapped if NO thermogenics, NO GH, NO trenbolone etc…was not employed as they should be able to produce results without these crutches.
When you can lower a person’s thyroid through malnourishment of prolonged carbohydrate deprivation, and simply throw a bandaid patch of Cytomel(T3) to mask the compromised metabolism -- you risk severely screwing them up with short-term and sometimes LONG-TERM ramifications. These people are solely interested in turning out results only --NOT results while keeping health intact.
That is how you hear people ending up in the hospital. That is how you hear of people gaining 30 pounds of weight in a few days post contest. The Insta-Coach doesn’t know how to safely transition out of a harsh contest diet healthily and optimally. They rather keep harnessing awesome VISUAL results to further enhance their online persona.
Why properly take a client off hormones and keep food under control when you can use tons of shitty food plus toxic hormones immediately after a severe dieting phase to create a profound “anabolic rebound?” Once again, it throws the athlete’s health in jeopardy, but could be a jackpot for the Insta Coach.
Investigate the person’s past posts -- dig back a few years and find out if they had a forum handle, search their older posts, search their older pictures etc… You might scratch your head when you reveal just 1- 2 years ago these people you have been following with outstanding client pictures might have been asking some pretty novice, basic, dumb ass questions just a few years ago. The Insta-Coach hustled, hired, and chumbed it up to be something they probably really are not.
