Just seeing if anyone uses ibuprofen on a daily basis. I have a cervical spine issue but hate using ibuprofen. Worry about my liver.

Tylenol is worse then ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is for inflammation, while Tylenol is for acute pain.

Acetaminophen(Tylenol) is one of the worst OTC meds for hepatotoxicity. Followed by some NSAIDS.

Short term use.....I really don't see issues. Long term and dose dependent then there may be some problems.

I use these myself and certainly limit their use to short term as these products are most likely not designed for long term use so the best bet is discussing with your doctor about long term pain management options.

I was using 4x200mg Ibuprofen every 6 hours around the clock for a couple of months. This was for some persistent swelling and pain from a wrist I broke when I totalled my car. I stopped taking it because of some serious edema in my feet, calves, and even in my stomach. Stopping the ibuprofen, flushing my body with lasix, potassium and reasonably large anounts of water resolved the issue.

My working assumption (just that, an assumption) is that if you're doing liver damage you're going to notice some other stuff as well (maybe lethargy etc.) but this isn't failproof.

I was told by my hand pain specialist that the dose of ibuprofen I was on was the max and that staying at that dose for 2-3 years I might start to see some issues.

You can try to mix stuff up periodically like with Aleve, and cycle on/off esomeprozole to protect your stomach (unless you do sublingual / injectable B12 in which case you could just stay on it for the duration).

i'm trying to limit my intake of all this stuff, but it's tough with this sciatica
