Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty gets booted

OK, so unless you are dead or have no media access, you've probably heard about this. In a GQ interview earlier this year Phil was asked about a certain issue, and he gave HIS answer and is now being labeled all sorts of crap for it. Also A&E has suspended him from the show.

Here is what he said:
“It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus," Robertson told GQ. "That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine," he later added. “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

I really don't watch the show but everybody on tv has their own opinions that viewers might not agree upon. I think a&e will be more disappointed with the outcome then Phil would be. Nobody is kicking politicians out of office for some of the shit they say.

hey I guess fuck freedom of speech. Blacks and Gays have fought hard to have the freedom to do what they want but it seems to me its a one way street. They get all up in arms if someone has a view or says anything. The freedom that allows Phil to state his beliefs are the same freedoms that allow them to do what they do so I guess its a double edge sword, they need to stop crying like bitches. I agree with tbonexl that everyone has the right to their own opinions, including Phil, and that a&e will suffer more than the Robertsons(my guess is they'll be picked up by another network), and especially that politicians say AND DO things that are a lot more detriMENTAL to us and so many times are not held accountable.

I agree with GRIM that the network has the right to enforce certain things in the contract if they want.

I agree with Hardatit that everyone has the right to agree or disagree with Phil's opinion, to watch it or not.

I agree with Goodfella, I had no idea about this, either, until someone mentioned it yesterday just in passing.

I don't agree with a&e, given the fact that he wasn't even 'ON' the show, he was giving his opinion in a mag. interview.

I don't agree with Phil in his paraphrasing 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 in what appears to be an antagonistic way to justify his viewpoint.
And he(or the perhaps interviewer edited it) didn't even give us the best news which is found in verse 11-
"Some of YOU[especially me!] were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

And what "question" was he responding to anyway? I'm sure it's a set up by the liberal-leftwing wackos in gq and the lame-stream media!!!

Let's face it. Everyone has there own opinion.
And we don't always like or agree with what someone else says but we are ALL supposed to have freedom of speech.
At least for now...

btw, I agree with 49er, walker, jm and boltbreaker about not being able to get into the show, pc, vagina, respectothers/respectme, and bs in america!!!

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions but if you are a public figure then you have to be careful what you say and to whom you say it because you are in the eyes of millions of people and they have the numbers against you and if they cause an uproar then you are at their mercy because you wont get enough people to back you simply because people don't want the negative attention that you are drawing cause it will bring them down and cost them money and their standing in the public eye. It sucks but that's the way it goes when you are in the public spotlight.
