Recovering from abscess: Opinions Please.

Hey all,
So as some of you know i recently recovered from a nice abscess that i had in my lower left lat. Now my question is "How do i go about starting to work it out again?"

I have worked it out once a couple days ago when i hit back. It hurt a lil bit during and afterward. Is this normal? Or do i need to treat it as i would a muscle tear? Or just take it easy? Do i use the same amount of weight per lat? Or go with what each can do? Just want to get the best opinions i can on this. I love my gym and it would devistate me if i really fucked up my lat. Thanks in advance.
 
Wish I could help but no experience with this problem, shoulder injuries , elbows and knees but no lat issues or abscess...

I had one explode in my rectum. I was told not to excercise for 8 weeks the. Td to start very light and slow. I'm sure my case was a little different but I would still advise u not to hit it too hard yet treat like a tear or pull
 
yea, im no help either. I never had an absess! Ooh fuk, now watch, ill get one!

Knew I shoulda kept my big mouth shut!
 
LOL you all, now i feel like a dumbass that aint careful!!! I guess i will just take it easy with anything that has to do with lats. That gives me a big sad face!!! :'(
 
I had an abcess lanced about 5 years ago in my quad and it took me several weeks after it healed before I could really train legs again.

Mine started as an abcess and turned into cellulitus and had to be lanced to get rid of it. Hurt like nothing I have ever felt before!!!
 
Abcesses are nasty. I have pics of mine and I can feel the pain every time I look at them! Big hole in my leg, dang it hurts just thinking about it.

It is normal to have it feel sore/tender/hurt a lil after you worked it. Honestly, the only safe advice that can be given from our point of view is to go easy on it for a week or 2. I only say this because it is hard for us to gauge how it is or feels since were not you. So your going have to use your best judgements, but just going lite, easy, or skip back for a week shud help out.

Oh i will lol. My Dad is a Vet and drained it for me so i didn't have to go back to the hospital. Shit felt so much better hours after that. I just finished my course of antibiotics.

I will never touch synthol lol, that shit destroy's muscle period. But yep, it was an injection site abscess.
