Oh man do I seriously dislike Good Mornings.....they just kill my lower back 🙁CB1 said:Wacker, Ofcourse Im biased as a PLer. I have an inzer lever belt. I have worn the same belt for over 15yrs and its still in great shape. I think it will last me the rest of my life. Elitefts.com has some sales on belts but I think it ends today but they will have another. The spud belts have become popular also. The guys I lift with wear them an find them more comfortable than the leather. They are also about half the price of the inzer lever so it might be a good choice.
My thoughts on belts. In my head a belt serves two purposes. 1. To keep you more upright and not lean over forward. 2.Increase the intra abdominal pressure to make your core more solid. Based on that the idea of a belt that is smaller in the front than the back is just STUPID.
I dont put the belt on until I get over 500 in the DL usually it goes on at 585. In the SQ I feel it is more useful in keeping good technique. You are suposed to be pushing your abs out against it staying as upright as possible. In the SQ I put it on at 225.
I do not wear a belt for goodmornings. Again the purpose of the belt is to keep you upright and the idea of a goodmorning is to bend over at the waist so it is totaly counterproductive. And yes I think BBers should be doing GMs to devolop lowerback erectors, glutes and upper hamstrings. CB
