wickr is good if you're not super paranoid. some signs it may be crackable by government but you would have to be pablo escabar to get targeted, surespot adds user generated encryption onto the ssl channel ,so little more work little bit more secure , signal was rate higher after wickr sold. but its still more popular

Some time ago I was told wickr had been hacked. Everyone I know stopped using it we all use wire now. Works great. I don't know if it was true about wickr getting hacked but whatever wire works good.
