Daily Devotional....Fitness and Faith

You have no idea how many times I've wanted to start a thread on this. And this may need its own thread but I'm gonna give my answer here. My view is kinda like the alcohol question, God doesn't command us to not drink, but to not be drunkards. Our bodies are a temple Holy and pleasing to Him, so abuse to them is the line in the sand for me. As for anabolics, I'm making an informed choice that is in my mind and research the safer alternative to enhancement and I do not abuse them. By safer, I mean safer than OTC drugs that promise the same thing. I am on TRT for a legitimate reason as well under a doctors care. Is that all justification, maybe.

If it's wrong then it would be rationalization, still not justified.

The fact that we have conflict in this area either points to:

#1- we know it's wrong but don't want to stop,

#2- we've been led to think that running gear is totally vain and will harm your body, when in fact both of these could be wrong.

IMO, it comes down to the base reason you use it. If it's proven that gear hurts your body as badly as cigs, alcohol, etc., we all then have to make a choice if it's worth it or not.

RockShawnWell.........
I've struggled with this. But, then I go to local shows and see faith in the works. I come here and see the opportunities to testify or share or plant seeds that wouldn't really be otherwise available. I think it's a personal issue. Moderation is always key in ANYTHING we do. "all things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient"......We have to remember, we are witnesses and the worlds eyes are upon us. In the right circles and circumstances, this thing we do is a valuable tool, in the wrong place it is detrimental to our witness. But, we have no control over perception...

Everything we do is under scrutiny.....even grocery shopping!
