Going on a Honeymoon? Nope, Going Fishing

Normally when we get married, the first thing we want to do after the ceremony isn’t to go fishing, especially while wearing nice clothes.

However, people do strange things in the name of love, so we’ll let this bride enjoy her fun. Imagine if this was the reception!

Even Fish Can Have Perfect Timing

Fishermen often forget that underneath the surface of the water they usually see, there is a bunch of fish and other organisms.

180823_083017_3.webp

Here we see a snorkeler who is exploring the underwater world with his friend. Chance would have it that a fish covered the snorkeler’s face as the photo was taken. All hail Fishman.

Time for an Intervention?

As kids, we may have had a favourite toy or blanket that we liked to cuddle when sleeping. Hobbies and interests change over time — here is a man sleeping next to his beloved fishing rods.

180823_083017_4.webp

Doubt his significant other would appreciate having the rods there, so we can only hope he cleaned them first.

oh man. Once summer hits or the fish start bitting....I am addicted to fishing all summer long. My wife hates me but the buddies love me for all the fishing outings I create in the name of fish lol.

Other Fish in the Sea?

180823_083017_5.webp

This lucky man has a catch of a great girlfriend who is supportive of his fishing antics, being willing enough to act as a humorous prop in his latest achievement — catching a fish almost as big as herself!

Epic Showdown

See how far the fish has pulled the man towards the water — it must have been quite large. We can only speculate who won this battle…

180823_083017_6.webp

Catching a fish is a battle that starts when the fish takes the bait. You’ll need to reel in the fish once it is hooked, and it will obviously go down fighting.

Fishing After a Flood

Torrential rain can lead to flooding, which causes many problems — streets can be closed off and houses can be damaged. However, some people see it as a great chance to go fishing.

180823_083017_7.webp

Goes to show that sometimes seeing life through another perspective can make a big difference.

Playing Hard to Get

Fishermen can spend minutes or hours waiting for their next catch. One of the benefits of fishing is that you can relax during the down time waiting for fish.

180823_083017_8.webp

Some people use stands to keep their hooks in the water. However, this big fish taunted hopeful fishermen by swimming around the hooks without taking the bait.

Sign? What Sign?

Signs are often helpful because they can protect us (think signs that warn drivers of road conditions ahead). They can be found in various places for different purposes, one of which is to say “no fishing from bridge.”

180823_083017_9.webp

While this sign was probably meant to protect fishers, not many people seem to care.

Trapped in My Net…Or Two

Another popular tool for fishing is the net, which covers more surface area than a hook.

180823_083017_10.webp

See how the woman is netting her catch, all while decked out in a headpiece with a rubber chicken and basketball net. Talk about fishing with style.

Are They Really Here to Fish?

Some fishermen are proud for having secret fishing spots. However, as fishermen scour around for good locations, the word eventually gets out.

180823_083017_11.webp

However, in this case it seems like the fishermen aren’t here just to fish…

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

In this photo we can imagine what started out as a chill day go sideways. You’re on a boat fishing and relaxing while drinking beer, only to have the motor die.

180823_083017_12.webp

It must be tough trying to fix the motor while also keeping yourself afloat in the water, so these buddies improvised.

Rock: 1, Boat: 0

The waters can be treacherous, which can be made even more dangerous with the presence of rocks. Amateur and even seasoned seamen can get trapped on the rocks, as we can see here.

180823_083017_13.webp

Not sure how this man drove his boat up onto the rock, but he’s probably not going to get any fishing done here.

Those Sandals Look Fishy…

Flip flops are great footwear options for fishing, considering that they are low-maintenance and dry quickly when soaked.

180823_083017_14.webp

Someone really loves fishing, because he or she has a pair of flip flops that look like real fish…

Teach a Man to Fish…From Potholes?

We know that flooding can open up many opportunities to fish in the city. The man in this photo took advantage of a large pothole — which would have been very annoying in daily life — and used it (literally) as a fishing hole.

180823_083017_15.webp

Don’t think people will start appreciating potholes anytime soon though.

Gotta Bring the Whole Family

Family outings mean bringing the whole crew, which can sometimes complicate event planning, especially when little ones are involved.

180823_083017_16.webp

We didn’t know that a crib was part of this family, but here it is, taking up more space than the other family members. We doubt the toddler will remember this experience, but it must have been very memorable for the other folks.

Really? Is It Nececessary?

While signs are usually useful, there are always those exceptions that make you think why people even bother. Here is one of these exceptions, where a bridge “No fishing or diving from bridge” sign.

180823_083017_18.webp

Sounds normal, except that there is no water under the bridge (literally yes, but figuratively?).

Age is Just a Number

Fishing is a relaxing hobby that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Indeed, people from different generations have bonded over fishing.

180823_083017_19.webp

Although the man in the photo is elderly and using a walker, he is dedicated to fishing. Mind over matter, and a good reminder to enjoy life regardless of one’s age.

Well Played, Sir

When we say fishing is a relaxing hobby, we didn’t imagine lugging a Lazy Boy chair onto a boat like the men in this photo.

180823_083017_20.webp

Props to them though, they must have had a very relaxing fishing trip. Let’s hope they didn’t fall asleep like they were at home in front of the TV.

I think his wife would prefer a different kind of rod 🙂.
