I'm bulking, as always, I'm 5'7 hit about 180 and can't get past it. I'm eating 4000-4500 calories a day and that's not enough. Problem is eating more then that is very hard. Use weight gainer shakes already. Looking for advice on how to get in another 500-1000 a day. I can just drink more weight gainers if I have to but seeing there's others choices I'm not thinking of.

The metabolism just seems to be unstoppable. Eating whole pizzas for lunch, Ordering highest calorie item off any menu, diet is far from clean right now and still no weight gain lately? Lol. Tape worm maybe? Lol

could it be just a genetic thing... ??.. i always think size follows strength ... so i would concentrate on getting lifts up..

180lbs... what weight did you begin this journey?

well... damn... that is 60lbs.. and i know you stay at a low bodyfat... so 60lbs of muscle!. i put on about 40-50lbs of muscle..probably 25-30lbs after starting juice. .. you may have reached a point of very very small changes coming very slowly

certainly sounds like you at least would have to go the pro bodybuilder route and just sleep and train and eat... quit your job...lol...

wish i had some better advice... but i doubt i put on 60lbs of meat since high school.. so i don't know exactly what it takes... maybe some one who has put on more than 60plus lbs of muscle will chime in. but i doubt many have done that

180at 5;7" and lean... up from 120... very good work. very proud for you friend

add more fats. calorie dense, good for the body.

so if you forget about calories for a min and just think macros, if I want to add weight do this

step 1 increase fats
step 2 increase proteins
step 3 increase carbs

although sounds like you have a high metabolism,, maybe a physical day job, so you could go more fats, more carbs, more protein. assuming weight is the goal and no issues with a little body fat

cut out cardio if you're doing it now

i eat an avocado a day, great good fat source , switch to white potatoes the starchy carbs will add weight

Years ago I had a friend named John Parrillo who introduced me to MCT oils, specifically Captri. Adding this to my diet did a fantastic job of adding calories that allowed me to drop fat and add muscle through higher calories with stabilized insulin levels.

I found an old video on this that might be helpful. As usual John is extremely laid back and relaxed. He even does a nasty cough in the middle of the video and then messes up the ending, but doesn't edit any of it out because that's how he rolls.

Everyone's pretty much nailed it. Also figuring out what foods your body can process faster helps. Like minister said white potatoes are great and so is jasmine rice, I can eat a a shit load and be hungry shortly after. Oatmeal and pasta on the other hand leave me feeling full for hours.

Also real ginger root added to diet can really speed things up esp with high protein intake.

Drink a tablespoon of avocado/olive/coconut oil or put in shakes when ever

Mcdonalds 2 for $2.50 mcdoubles

Start drinking soda or juices if you cut them out before

EQ
peptide that increases hunger... ghrp 6(?) of 2. forgot which one

Ya I have very physical job so makes it even harder to gain weight. Sounds like good advice, I will add lots of fats. Never do cardio anyway

i need help too. have not been eating enough lately. not sure if it's the stress of the new job or the disruption with the new schedule, but it's not good. down to like 177. want to be going up, not down.

Slin and on serious mass weightgainer if you can't gain off that your fucked my freind

Try and figure out how many calories a day your burning between work and the gym. You could possibly cut your gym time down if you are burning to much calories.

Focus on heavy compound lifts.

You probably don't have close to 60lbs of muscle on your body...much less to gain anywhere close to that much. Most of your body weight is water, bone and teeth, organs/intestines and then muscle and fat. Most muscle is water weight...like 70% or so. So, not possible at 120lbs to gain 60 lbs muscle. Or 150lbs to gain 50 lbs muscle.

My guess is he meant you are mistaken, not lying. Many people don't have a clear understanding of their exact muscle content and ability to increase it. I would guess you're pretty clear on the make up of your body, but that's just my assessment.

Sorry Ms Sensitivity...I was responding to Krustus' post. Lol

Get with a pro nutritionist. If you increased your overall body weight by 33%... You might be maxed out. For me, I can gain/lose 20lbs fairly easy, but I stay at 240 lbs or so.
