Knee

I made s bad fall two weeks ago (on an icy footpath). My right knee already badly damaged by torn ligaments and menisectomy 20 years ago swole up like a balloon. I waited a week before seeing a doctor who told me to keep moving and take Ibuprofen (which I skipped because it hurts my stomach). I did cardio only (45 min elliptical every morning). I thought everything was back to normal until yesterday. I played tennis and the knee hurts like hell today. It is unstable and swollen.

Sorry I had to vent .....
Vent all you want sweety, thats what we are here for (missed you) and after reading that well damn it wil probably take replacement . They just keep patching and patching and that is no good. I had ACL replacement and never squat over 315 anymore nny I can do 5 sets of 315 at 20 to 30 reps just won't push the heavier weight anymore. Stay healthy as it seems like there are a few of us injured at this time 😉.

Things are not going well after that TKR. I wish I could undo things but it's a bit late for that. Knee is always swollen which prevents me from bending. I'm physically ill whenever the PhysioTerrorist is around because bending the knee hurts like hell (it might have something to do with the collateral median ligament -- basically the inside of the knee). I do 3 sessions of 20 min on the Kinetec (CPM) but knee is stiff. I ice it 3 to 4 times a day. I stopped taking Tramadol because of the stomach upsets but doing physio without any painkiller is almost impossible.

This was a big mistake. I had my first post op appointment with the OS told me to be patient and keep moving while PT tells me I'm overdoing it and should rest. This is all so confusing 🙁

Sorry to hear that MG! 🙁 That's the problem with TKR.... one knee takes it just fine and the other absolutely refuses to heal. Stay strong, time will go by, and you'll eventually heal.

It sucks but Size is right, takes time.

do you want to me to kiss it and make it better, bebe?

Hang in there and keep icing it sweet girl, I feel for you. I can let you know that when I had ACL replacement it felt like the Dr. reapledmy ACL with a tendon that was to short, it took well over a year for me to even squat down without cocking my leg out to the side. What he did was cut a strip of my petellar tendon and put it in place of my ACL but it did not feel right for a very long time. I am going to PT now for a few different body parts and they will be starting on my arm that I had surgery on in the near future. You should rest and heal as much as you can and I am so sorry to hear about all the pain you are in, if you need to talk drop me a line, PM if you like. You will recover from the TKR, I have faith in you but unfortunately the body takes some time adapting and I know my injury was not near as bad as it was just an example of how things can be more difficult then they should be. Were here for you, hang in there girl!!!!!
I would move it gently when you are aone at home and let PT do the real work with you, just keep some of that mobility going and ice it, let PT do the real painful work and let the OS know what the PT is saying so you get everybody on the same page with this.
