"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work." - Steve Jobs
From what I can tell, there are two types of people that read these emails:
1 - Those of you that have "made it" and are currently living out your journey successfully. You read the emails, continue to stay motivated, implement the advice given, and keep kicking ass.
2 - Those of you that are in a rut, trying to find a way to get moving, get your sh*t together, and move closer to achieving your goals.
No matter which side of the line you fall on, I've come to realize we all have one thing in common - we all think about quitting (including yours truly).
For those of you currently kicking ass - how great would it be to just kick back, not have to work as hard, and relax on your new found success. You can enjoy your new body, perhaps your new wealth, or maybe just your new found happiness - all while no longer having to work half as hard. Sounds kinda nice, huh?
Conversely, for those of you that are struggling to get started, what if we just said screw it. It's just too hard. Maybe its really not worth all the struggle, all the effort, and all the hard work. Losing all that weight, having more money, or feeling better won't matter anyway right?
Sorry to say - we are all wrong.
While quitting is most certainly easy, it sucks.
So heres the slap in the face you need - GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER!
If you are successful, create bigger goals. Kick complacency in its ass and move beyond it!
If you can't get moving, reassess your goals. Start with why, and allow that to move you forward. Perhaps you are chasing the wrong goals, and thats why you haven't been successful (this was the case with a coaching client yesterday, who is now armed with her new goals and ready to kick ass!).
Listen - life is full of ups and downs. But if we are being real, we will never hit the highest of highs or lowest of lows. If you are reading this now, you have access to the internet, and a roof over your head - thats more than several people in the world can say. But I hear you, it's not enough. You want that bigger house, you want the better body, you want more happiness.
And thats where the beauty lies. We must get our sh*t together, and prepare to live in the space between satisfaction and discomfort. Never bordering on either end, but always ready to push limits.
Remember, its ok to WANT to quit, but don't ever allow yourself to do it. Pull it together, and then move forward - you CAN do it!
INSPIRE, and be inspired
