New research shows rec. daily intake of Vitamin D may be underestimated by 10x

My doctor says he doesn't even test most people because they are always low. He tested me and I was almost severely deficient. He always recommends at least 2-5 thousand a day for a year and then test you. I think it is important to point out cholecalciferol which is the activated vitamin d. No sun required.
 
That's true, even when you do absorb UVB rays you still need cholesterol for dermal synthesis of vitamin D. Vitamin D is fat soluble.
