Paypal to accept Crypto

Sounds like a risky bet to me considering Paypal's reputation for getting cozy with LE?

I guess it would depend on what your buying......?
Yes for buying on ebay or sites that accept Paypal for payment for legal stuff I have had no issue. Buying crypto via Paypal where PP acts as the exchange is a bit of a red flag to me.

i'm not too concerned. You figure, if you signed up with CoinBase or Cash App, they have your social security number, a pic of your drivers license, etc, on file. They know who you are.

What do these exchanges do if they think you're playing dirty? They ban you from buying BTC and life goes on.

i highly doubt PayPal is going to be any different. If the service is streamlined and simple to use, i'm going to give it a go.

sorta true but coinbase fought the government from releasing info to the feds and in the end only released a small portion

What info were they interested in?

Was it Uncle Sam getting his panties in a bunch because he wasn't getting a cut of the billions of dollars being passed around or was it user info?

If it was user info, was it from a bunch of nobody's buying a few hundred dollars of BTC every month or two, or was it the major players that are shuffling large amounts of BTC around?

BTC will never be the best choice for privacy, but as for an exchange like PayPal tattling on me, i'm not going to lose sleep over it.

they wanted EVERY users details, name, transaction etc

BTC is actually pretty good for privacy, sure some coins better but where you lose the privacy mainly is in the purchase or sale using real info

That being said a small user prob minimal worries besides taxes as IRS law anyone who has/uses bitcoin/crypto needs to report it.
Its an asset sale even when used for payment

I'm still lost on crypto. I need a simple ed format that's untraceable. Or untraceable as can be.

Didn't Grim have a write-up some where here where you can buy BTC without giving them all your info and a blood sample to verify?

I gotta go back and look. Still a mystery to me lol. I am not tech savvy at all.

Purchasing crypto through PayPal went live today. There's only one tiny catch...

Can I transfer crypto into and out of PayPal?

Currently, you can only hold the crypto that you buy on PayPal in your account. Additionally, the crypto in your account cannot be transferred to other accounts on or off PayPal.

Lame!

very makes it pretty useless besides pp

Is this still the case? That you can only buy crypto on Paypal and hold it?

I was hoping I could go to Walmart, make a deposit to my Paypal account and then start the whole moving from account to account game.

I want/need to stop having withdrawals that are explicitly BTC show up in my bank account but hate dealing with the assholes at coinbase or whoever is still in business. Haven't done business with them in 6 months because they act like they're doing me a huge favor by having me deposit 425.32 at a whatever bank 13 minutes from my house, send them a copy of the receipt for some fucking reason, then threaten not to send the BTC because it was supposed to be 425.33.

I’ve bought a lot of shady stuff with PayPal with no issues, they don’t know what ur buying, I think some of us are way to nutty about being safe, they don’t want the buyer, they want the big fish.
