Shoes or no shoes

I take my shoes off when I squat and do calf raises of any kind.
I wear gloves but really like magnesium bicarbonate.
I've noticed some guys laughing at me when I take off my shoes.
I just feel like I get better stability and control.
 
I wear old Chucks for deads and just plain socks for squats and calf raises

As for you bet you got the feet of a Hobbit if you feel more stable without socks or shoes, lol

Lol... Never herd this before. Your not suppose to even wear sandals at my gym and trust me you deffinately dont want to go barefooted in their
 
Doing squats and not owning a pair of chucks is just plan wrong. That's like taking a shit and not using any TP JUST WRONG!!!

lol I realized I misread your post and I'm sure he'd call you mean if you actually told him to put on some shoes 😀
 
I wear 5 fingers and usually put a small plate under each heal when I squat..

but then again I live in my 5 fingers as they are the only thing that allows me to run w/out getting shin splints... so I just wear 'em for cardio and then keep 'em on for my workout...

then again in CA people don't look at you funny for having funny shit on your feet.

if the shoe fits.....

I wore the vibrams for a while. Infact got two pair, but my heels kept getting bruised just from normal wear and cardio. No hard running at all. Wierd. Had to go back to training shoes.

Be careful with using a plate. This can and most of the time does put you in a quad dominant position. Make sure you squat through your heels, not your toes. IMHO, put the board or plate under your toes and squat that way 🙂
 
I believe in no shirts, no shoes, no work out. WHERE IN THE HELL do y'all workout the FLINTSTONES GYM.
 
I wear my DC`s to lift. I have never gone shoeless on squats but I have gone in my socks for calves. I laugh at the people that wear those little toesy shoes!!!lol Wont ever catch me wearing them, its like gloves for ur feet or those toe socks that chicks wear, not for me!

I never go without shoes in the gym and I never put anything under my heels for squats.

You drive with your heel and, with heavy weight, getting my feet set is hard enough without having to get my heel on some little 10lb plate.
