Shoes or no shoes

I take my shoes off when I squat and do calf raises of any kind.
I wear gloves but really like magnesium bicarbonate.
I've noticed some guys laughing at me when I take off my shoes.
I just feel like I get better stability and control.

Bro they're laughing at u because ur feet stink and they look like u've been walking on glass !!! LOL

I wore the vibrams for a while. Infact got two pair, but my heels kept getting bruised just from normal wear and cardio. No hard running at all. Wierd. Had to go back to training shoes.

Doesn't male sense about the heals.

The entire point of the five fingers is they cause you to toe strike as opposed to heal strike when doing cardio/running.

So odd

I don't know bro, I ended up with stress fractures on both heels. I prolly did something wrong.

some people where air ride shoes or shoes that have a huge cushioned heel. if your one of those people, then yes barefoot squatting is a good idea as far as stability goes.

i just recently got new runnings shoes and they have flat soles so its not necessary anymore.

but used to deadlift and squat in my socks

I started squatting barefoot when I was wearing Nike Shox and have come to love it. Those were the most worthless shoes when it comes to squatting and dead lifting.
No one in the gym can squat or DL more than I can so most just STFU about it.
Barefoot or Chuck Taylors are the only way to go!!!
