Stress

I am not a religious person b any means but when it comes down to it I often think of a prayer someone told me. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
Kind of puts things in perspective for me, and reminds me that I truly am the only thing I can control and change. Look at what we do in prep, less than 1-2% of the population can endure and control their bodies the way we do. Now try and make your wife do something just because it's want I want good luck

prioritize, eliminate what stress you can. Don't sweat shit you cant control, easier said than done but with practice gets easier. Dont let anyone or anything throw you off center. Make sure to take time for yourself then get back on the horse and handle business.

And always have something planned to look forward to, like a small vacation or new toy.

agreed fully, and double agreed on looking forward to something, small or big, this is key

Lots of great answers here.

I, being a type A of types A's, like to control everything that is possibly within my power to control(because of trust issues, I think), so I can have a ton of perceived stress.

The reason I say percieved stress is, like DrakonRep said, it's not tangible, but mostly just a reaction we have within ourselves.
But I know it can be seem real and get out of hand very quickly.

Some very real and practical things that help me are:

1. GET THE RIGHT QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF SLEEP!!!!!!!
Lack of this screws me up WORSE THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!

2. Prayer and Scripture

3. Christ-centered music(metal, hiphop, praise, whatever genre) will change my mood/perception usually instantly

4. Heavy squats or heavy deadlifts-this is like an auto-reset button for me. It make me feel like a new man.

5. Meditation-a great book on this is called Qigong Meditation: Embryonic Breathing by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming
(btw, I've been told that Dr. Yang said that meditation can be done lying too, and not just sitting; not sure if that has been added to the book yet, but I have successfully done lying meditation, long before Dr. Yang actually approved of it. I greatly prefer it over sitting)

Done correctly, meditation/qigong(chi-gung)is AMAZING for stress, health, energy, sleep
[be careful of the source of info you choose, because leading the qi(chi) down/up the wrong path can cause very real health issues.
Twice, I've given myself very scary migraines, by leading it up the wrong path accidentally as I fell asleep, and I had a friend that cause some kind of electric issue in his heart by practicing some bogus chi-gung]

I'm glad bossman mentioned this.
I was big into it some years ago, and I need to pick it up again for health, longevity, and well-being.

Thanks Bossman!!!
