My boxer and Chihuahua used to be like that, the little one would snuggle up with him in the boxers bed before he passed away.
Have a boxer pit mix now but the boxer will never be the same after loosing his little buddy.
@Mobman702 Sounds like my boxer.....he was a rescue dog and the best friend you could ask for, can't figure out why anyone would mistreat such wonderful animals but the world is full of heartless SOB's... They are more than your best friend!!!!
When we first brought him home and he investigated everything, he would come up to me and bow his head between my knees, showing me I was the alpha...amazingly smart, then when he would go out in the yard, the first thing he would do would be to make rounds along the perimeter of the fence like he was checking it and I am sure he was.
They discovered a handful of years back what us dog owners have already known, their brain works like ours does. Hell we could have told them that and saved them money on the research...
The little blonde Chihuahua we had forever it seemed like, he was my heart, brought me to my knees when he passed.
Not sure if the boxer has some American bulldog in him but at some angles he looks like it.
